Has anyone ever regretted an abortion?

I got pregnant with my abusive ex’s baby September of 2018... because I knew how he was to me, with a heavy heart I aborted the baby because he was a very bad person.... but whenever I drink too much I sit and think about the child I’d be pregnant with and it always brings me to tears. How do you deal with such a thing? The man I got pregnant with was a monster and knew he’d be a monster to our baby... but when I found out I loved our baby..:. The guilt hurts so bad, I wish I could change it.. anyone dealt with such turmoil?

There is conditional love and unconditional love. One limits the mind and one sets it free. 
You no doubt have unconditional love for your baby. You always will, part of you became a mom. Even through there’s no baby in your arms. 
Protecting yourself and that baby was an amazing thing you did. Actions and decisions purely made out of conditional love. Thinking about the health, happiness and future of that baby first. Considering your own emotions over the abortion later. You are such an amazing woman and mother! And oneday when you will have a baby in your arms and it grows, you still will be that amazing mother... but with more knowledge and wisdom to help nurture and guide your children. 
Please remember this. Screen shot it and read it when your down. I truly truly believe this of you! Even though we have never meet. 
Protecting your baby, regardless of abortion or not. Is the most motherly and amazing thing as a woman. It needs to be cherished and for people to remember the value in the unconditional love a mother has.

Time helps massively. Also, don’t stop yourself thinking about it, don’t try to block it out, acknowledge it happened and let yourself cry it out if you need to. It was really hard for me at first but now I look back on it as a positive decision I made for myself. I still think about what could’ve been but it doesn’t make me sad anymore x

I was in the exact same boat. my marriage was a complete disaster. my husband was emotionally and physically abusive. I found out I was pregnant in December 2017 and had an abortion a few weeks later. it was the absolute hardest decision I ever made but I knew it was something that had to be done. he would have ended up beating the baby out of me or carried on after he/she was born and I needed to get out of the relationship. 
if you ask me if I regret it, I will tell you absolutely. all I want in this world is to be a mother. but not with him. every day I think of my decision but not every day do I get depressed about it anymore.  I think what I regret the most is having the "what ifs" of what life would be if I didnt make the choice. i know i made the right one deep down. 
it's not a lie nor an easy bandaid to say "time helps". it's the truth. every day gets a little easier and you remind yourself that you made the choice in that moment, for a reason. hindsight is 20/20 and maybe if I had known what a loving relationship I'd be in now, I would have made a different choice. 
you will have bad days while you heal but I can assure you, you will have good days too. I'm not happy every day, all day but I can usually smile for a moment or two. just hang in there.
