I know it's too early to be thinking about these things but...After you've given birth at the hospital, I've been reading uk hospital bag lists and I noticed that bottles are not on the lists and so I was wondering do they provide bottles 24/7, do you have to request them. Do you make up the bottle yourself or do they make it for you?

I’m in the north west and they do provide bottles for you.

My hospital didn’t , if you weren’t or couldn’t breastfeed you had to take your own milk and bottles

I would take bottles no matter what! You can get ready made little bottles for when you’re due etc, they were a lifesaver for me! Most hospitals don’t supply the bottles anymore due to lack of funding etc x

I’m in Yorkshire... I planned to breast feed, but ended up combi-feeding on the Midwife’s advice. All formula during our stay was provided by the hospital.

Depends where you are. They provide them in Belfast but other places you have to provide your own.

I would ring the hospital myself and ask, or ask the midwife to check. The hospital should be willing to help and explain as some midwives might not know unless they work In the ward occasionally.

If you're not planning on breastfeeding then yes you have to provide your own bottles and formula.
