Genital wart cream disaster (should I go to the ER?)
So I was diagnosed with HPV years ago. This is my third outbreak of warts. They always come in times of extreme stress. The first time they went away just with me changing my diet and things like that. The second time they gave me a topical chemo cream and they were gone very quickly. This time they gave me the same cream and I’ve never been in more excruciating pain in my whole life. I woke up two days ago feeling fine. I went to work and started to feel off. Almost like I was getting the flu. I went to the restroom twice and it hurt like hell to wipe when I was finished. I had no appetite. I got home and my boyfriend and my mom told me to call the doctor in the morning but I shrugged it off. Thought everything was fine. Yesterday morning I woke up in so much pain. Took a bath hoping a nice soak would ease it. When I got out I took a look in the mirror. Large red patches that were burning were appearing. I took it easy all day. Sitting on an ice pack. I woke up this morning and I have about 30 little blisters that I can see. Burning, oozing, and itchy. I looked up the side effects for the cream and this is textbook side effects. That makes me feel much better and the reviews all say the same thing. It looks like herpes though which is scary as shit. My doctor couldn’t get me in till Thursday though and I’m in so much pain I can barely walk and I’m going to have to miss work tomorrow because of it. Should I go to the ER? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time but blisters in this area of the body is excruciating. Or if anyone else has dealt with this and can put my mind at ease or ideas on how to make it feel any better I’d appreciate them so much.
