Overfeeding at Daycare
My LO has just started daycare (3 days so far) and they are reporting that my LO is always hungry and have been giving him 16-20 ounces per day. LO is there for 8 hours, so I provided 4 4oz bottles (16 oz), which should be plenty, but they are feeding him that plus giving him some of my emergency back up frozen milk.
I know it has been an adjustment for my LO, and he may be extra fussy with the transition and missing me, but I don’t want him to be overfed. I think the daycare is just taking any fussiness as a sign of hunger, when it is probably more of a sign of being tired (LO is not a great napper). Any suggestions on how to best talk to the daycare provider? I suggested that they only provide a bottle every 2 hours and I want to explain to them all about pace feeding, but I don’t want to come off too pushy or micromanaging.
