Wipes for just #1?

Edit: lol thanks girls! Woops, mom fail🙈 I’ve heard urine is sterile from some sources and overuse of wipes can irritate the skin, so it wasn’t always necessary. If you google it, you’ll see I’m not that crazy for thinking that! 
My husband thinks you’re supposed to use wipes if it’s just urine in the diaper. I never have🤷🏼‍♀️ What is right?

I always use wipes...cleaning urine off the skin keeps the baby from irritation or rash, plus its just more hygienic.

Wipes often irritate the skin more than urine does. I don’t think wiping is necessary after every pee, and neither does the American Academy of Pediatrics

You guys are assholes. She was asking a question! I know I personally wipe my baby down at every change but my sister doesn’t wipe her daughter down every time and I thought it was odd but then thought about it more. She’s not sitting in a pool of urine. It’s just damp and putting a dry diaper on will dry it up. It is not going to hurt them and you guys need to stop with this mom shaming shit. It isn’t cute and doesn’t make you a better mom because you wipe your kid down every time.... she was asking who else does this.

Unpopular opinion I guess, I don’t wipe my son every diaper if it’s just pee 🤷🏻‍♀️ he hasn’t gotten any rashes or UTI’s or whatever all these women are claiming. I do wipe him in the morning because his night diaper it very full so I want to make sure he is fresh and clean but out of all the diapers he wets in a day I probably wipe him 3 times unless he poops

The nurses in the hospital told us not to wipe our daughter if it’s just pee. I think of it like this... we wipe our pee with dry toilet paper, so putting a dry diaper on wicks the moisture away just like toilet paper.

I don't wipe with every diaper. My daughter has very sensitive skin already (3 weeks old). I only wipe at night when i know she'll probably be sitting in the urine for a little longer than usual.
