Tampon causing back pain??

Question

I woke up with back pain today. When I changed my tampon I noticed the pain lessened. When I put in the new tampon about 3/4 in i started getting a shooting pain in my side. This has never happened before what could be the cause and how can I relieve my back pain ?

Tampons can make cramps, back or stomach, worse. I stopped using them for the first few days of my period, which is when I usually cramp, and it made a world of difference. Consider switching to pads and see if it helps.
