Is the Honest company actually eco-friendly, safe, and not tested on animals?

I've heard great things about the Honest company, but I'm always so skeptical. Do you mommas trust them? And if not, is there another company you trust more?
I'm trying to find ways to be better for the environment ☺🌱

Yes but remember that some of their products aren't for everyone. They've had several lawsuits regarding different products (mostly beauty products I believe). But not the diapers! The diapers are great, but they are not ideal for chunky babies.

Check out Andy Pandy diapers. They’re on the pricier side, but also the best all around by far. I did a ton of research and combed through the reviews before we got them. Best for the environment that I’ve seen, much softer than other brands & no weird smells. I highly recommend them, at least to alternate with your other favorite brands like we do! 🙃

I didn't care for the Honest company diapers. They are very stiff and my baby would leak out of them.

They are relatively safe compared to other diapers, but they still use SAP and they still take forever to break down after being thrown away.

I love Honest diapers, but especially their wipes! They use less SAP (the absorbent petroleum-based stuff), which is better to use less for the environment but also better for your kiddo's bottoms. That's why green mama's prefer them. They use wheat fillers to make up for the use of less SAP. 
It is uncommon, but some babies are allergic to wheat, so that is why some babies break out when they use Honest diapers. If they're not allergic, it shouldn't be a problem.

Eh...they are certified by PETA but several other places say they are in a grey area because they don't disclose much. Unfortunately there is no standard for cruelty free and pretty much anyone can say that. I usually look item by item if I can.

Yes, they are! We love The Honest Company. Seventh Generation is another really good one. Watch out for Babyganics, though. They just recently had a few lawsuits due to misleading ads. They're actually not organic or eco-friendly like they look.
