Wrong name?

Question

Has anyone picked out a name for their baby then a few days later, started panicking because “it’s just not his name”? I feel a little ridiculous honestly because it’s a name I absolutely love and I have no idea why I feel this way.

I prefer narrowing down the name options to a handful we like and then waiting until after birth to choose the one that fits best.
I want to meet the baby before deciding.

Yep had the same issue, but now 4 months in and I feel like it's right for her. Give it a little time, I just think it's the panic of naming a human being. ;)

I planned in naming my first emily. My mom loved the name and I did to, but about 6 months in, I felt it wasnt right for this baby and fell in love with the name skylar. Skylar marie is now my first daughters name and emily morgan is my secind daughters name. If you feel it isnt right, maybe look into other names. You dont want to name your baby something and then regret it and want to change it. If you cant find a name you like more, stick to the orginal.

My situation was a little different.. I loved Finley for a girl, and about seven months before I got pregnant, an old friend from HS named her son Finley. This was six years ago, so the name wasn’t as popular in the US as it is now, and I thought Finley was ALL girl until this friend used it for her boy. When I got pregnant, I was worried this friend who I never see would be annoyed I used the name (people are weird about baby names where we live), so I kept thinking about other names. Problem was, I would get a sick feeling or just a feeling those names weren’t right! My thoughts kept going back to Finley. I kept going back and forth until almost 8 months along, but the strong feeling of her name being Finley always brought be back to it in seconds. With our twins, I had a while to be set on their names since we were going through infertility. I had that same strong feeling with them as I did Finley, so I knew I needed to not question it, no matter what! Infertility also helped in that because I wasn’t going to let anyone or anything change my mind after not knowing if we could have anymore babies! 
Mama knows best! I’d keep looking, as long as it’s really your gut instinct telling you this, and not other people.

We kinda did that with my daughter. We had her name set as Natalie brynn up until a month because she came and then we’d changed it to Natalie Harper. With our boys name before we found out our first was a girl it was Brayden James. But now that we’re expecting our boy, we changed it to Nicolas James. Nic being my husbands middle name and James being a family name all around. Both sides. I love the name Nicolas much better than Brayden anyways. Bray just did seem to fit the bill anymore.
