Mother in-laws

So ladies I need advice and just some happy thoughts. So unfortunately my mother in law has brain cancer and I'm the one who cares for her. So we told her the news today just because I was under some stress and I was having bad cramps, anyways when I told her she was not happy at all about the news. What should I do? Should I not bring up the pregnancy? Am I the only one who doesn't have a good relationship with their mother inlaw?
