Weaning/period

So I just stopped nursing my 9 month old 😩. I feel so sad but I could tell she wanted to start weaning. The main thing is I haven’t got my period. I’m 5 days late. I had been getting my period on time and everything seemed normal while nursing. I know sometimes it can take a while for everything to get back on track after nursing but should I be testing every month my period is late or if I don’t get it?
