When did your baby get head control?

My baby is 6 weeks and can hold his head up. Sometimes it flops but is rare. He started holding his head up for 3 seconds at 1 week old. I always thought this was young so I wanted to see when other babies started

Two of my kids (other was very premature so he doesn’t count here) started picking up their head in the hospital. This one is 6 weeks now and has pretty good control. I would say that’s the average amount of time.

Mine was holding his head up day one. And at 7 weeks he can hold it for at least 10 seconds sometimes more. I’d say you’re little one is strong and doing good!

3 or 10 seconds is great but it’s not full head control.
