Is 16 weeks too early to set up a crib?

I know the gender of my baby already due to early dna testing. I bought a crib and felt like it was just mocking me for sitting in the box in the hallway 😂🤷‍♀️ so I decided to put it up. 
I'm 16 weeks pushing 17. For me it makes it more real and motivates me to do more/better. Ill have to share a room with my son and I've got a fairly large room. It doesn't take up any more space than the objects I had there previously. 
Maybe she's just upset I carried it upstairs and put it together myself but each peice was under 5 pounds.

If you want to, then go for it! We did our nursery early, too. It made life easier honestly because I could decorate slowly over time. Plus, when we had our shower it was so much easier to put things away because the room was all finished.

If it makes you happy, I don’t see the problem. My issue is I’d be going in there constantly and fiddling around. Probably would make me anxious and impatient. That why I don’t buy anything until the last minute... ugh I’m so impatient. I wish the stork just brought the baby as soon I figured out I wanted another one lol

I was waiting to do things however after seeing how much I will need to do before the baby comes i have decided to start. I am 17 weeks. Being pregnant it takes me longer to do things than before so I say go for it.

No way! Take advantage of the time now. What if you don’t feel well in your third trimester?

Not at all. We bought our sons crib at 8 weeks. We went right home and put it together and by 10 weeks we had the dresser and glider set up in the room as well. Our sons nursery was totally done besides decorations before I was even 20 weeks and that’s only because we didn’t find out the gender until 20 weeks haha.

Put it up whenever you are ready! We put ours up around 20 weeks because that’s when it was gifted to us and we didn’t want it sitting in the box in the room (boxes attract pests and we also wanted to make sure all the parts were there!) don’t listen to anyone else who says it’s too early. You do it when you are ready, that’s all that matters 😊 and congrats!
