Is a baby swing worth it?

I didn’t have one of these with my first two children but now they are so extremely popular & used by everyoneeee i know lol. I’m told they’re life changing but they’re a bit pricy so looking for some opinions before I purchase one. (Not this specific swing from the photo, just in general)

I’m going to get shit on for this but on well. I have a 10 day old who will not sleep anywhere but on us or in his swing. So go with what the baby wants I say. It’s better than being miserable and sleep deprived. I cried for like 5 days trying to get him to sleep in his bassinet and crib. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We got 3 different kinds of swings & my son hated all 3. It just depends on if your baby will enjoy it or not.

I had the one in the photo, literally the only way my girls napped while i had free time. Not twins btw, one's 5 one's 1. Still, i wouldnt be as sane as i am without a swing to pop them in when i needed a break.

Depends on the baby! With my first we were gifted a bouncer at the baby shower, and after he was born and we learned he didn’t like the bouncer, we took him to Babies R Us (before they closed) with a extra blanket, laid the blanket in the swing and then him and tested it to see if he’d like it and then we bought one!

I had that swing it was great! My daughter loved it! But she has always like to move and move fast lol some babies don’t like them my nephew Hatted his. We also got ours used from a consignment store. So that save us quite a bit of money.

Both my twins loved theirs.....the first 2 weeks after we brought them home it's the only place they would sleep. Saved my life lol

I’m pretty sure I would be dead without a swing. They’ve been life savers with all my children. To me they’re worth every penny! Just make sure you get one that plugs in!!! Don’t need to be wasting a ton of money on batteries!

I voted no but my daughter loves hers’ and usually falls asleep in it. I just hate it because the swing makes her slide down and she gets all scrunched up. I could use the straps but the time it would take me to strap her back in, she’d then decide she wanted out. I’m sure there are better swings then what I have but instead I just limit her time in the swing and keep a close eye on her.
