Pregnancy scares

Hey friends!

I’ve never written a post on here, or anywhere else for that matter, regarding this subject, but here it goes.

I grew up in a very strict and sheltered household and not many touchy subjects were openly discussed in my family.

I’m 21 now and I still seem to lack basic knowledge when it comes to getting pregnant. I’ve only been having sex for a little over a year with the same person. I’ve been on birth control for over a year. Other than birth control, he also always pulls out. Except for December 9th when I asked him not to. I wanted to experience that feeling and I figured since I’m on the pill and I’ve never done this before, I’d be emotionally okay with it afterwards. It only took me a few hours to start freaking out and panicking. About ten days after that I got my period. Now, my period has always been incredibly short. 4 days max. Only the second day is heavy. I also got my period this month (January) same length of time.

My problem is, because I don’t have an understand of this subject, I tend to become easily anxious. For example, I read a post online about a few women who continued to have their period while they were pregnant. It’s not January 23rd and I haven’t experienced any symptoms that I know of. I just feel incredibly scared and I realize it’s my own fault for changing my routine, but I suppose I’m just looking for some guidance.
