39 Induction stories?

We are having a 39 week induction! FTM tell me your experiences!

Don’t let people scare you. Recent studies have found inductions after 39 weeks DO NOT increase the odds of c-section. 
I’ve been induced twice (39+4 and 39+1). Both were great experiences ending in successful vaginal deliveries. The first was cervadil/pitocin and my water broke on it’s own after cervadil. The second was foley bulb/pitocin and the doctor broke my water for that one. Overall I preferred the foley bulb method.

I was induced. 10 hours labor. 5 hours in I took the epidural I couldn’t take it. They popped my water around 6/7 hours in. Pushed her out in 3 pushes. I tore very very little. It was just a little sting that lasted 3 days.

Wanted a natural birth but ended up being induced at 39 weeks. Still tried to do natural, they gave me cytotec to ripen my cervix, next day my water broke on its own, and then they gave me pitocin which is when things got real. I labored for a couple hours on it without epidural but it literally felt like my body was ripping in half so I opted for an epidural. My body was finally able to relax, I FINALLY dilated (I was at a 2 for several hours) and got some much needed sleep and they woke me up saying it was time to push. I’m glad in the end I got an epidural because I wasn’t suffering in pain from pitocin anymore, I’d still like to try natural again if I go into labor on my own someday. But the epidural was great, I didn’t feel anything, pushed 5 min, for an episiotomy and recovery for that has been very easy so far at 7 weeks pp. I’d absolutely do epidural if I had to get induced again. I mainly didnt want one because I was scared of the recovery or something going horribly wrong, but within a few hours it was totally worn off and I was just fine. Just remember there’s no right or wrong way to do something and if you want an epidural I’d go ahead and get it before they give you pitocin! Good luck mama

Do not let them pop your water, expect the worst, so csection being the most worst(inductions raise your chances for a csection) and then just horrible labor pains that require and epidural and so on. It’s best to go ahead prepared for whatever happens. My labor induction ended in a csection as my body refused the medicine. Do your research! Inductions can take up to 3 days long. So do not let them rush you too quickly unless your body is refusing the medicine. Mine just didn’t want to dilate me or let my baby down on to my pelvis. Other than that my only advice is don’t pop your water, don’t suggest it unless baby absolutely needs to be taken out. You have 18 hrs from the time of ruptured waters to have baby.
