Losing mucus plug after cervix check

I got checked today at my appt and I’m dilated to a 1. After the check I had a few really intense contractions but couldn’t tell when they ended or stopped so I didn’t time them. Went to go pee and wiped and there was a bunch of my mucus plug. Is this normal? I’ve lost smaller pieces (like the size of a booger literally 😂) before but today it was like if I blew my nose when I had a bad cold. Could that check have dilated me more/dislodged my plug or something? I’ve had a few inconsistent contractions since but not timed them bc I keep forgetting lol
