My father in laws, girlfriends, daughter announced she was pregnant yesterday....

This is a woman whose fiancé broke up with her bc she came home (and I quote) “smelling like dick”. (No, I have no idea what that smells like). He is a raging alcoholic and responded with “how could you do third to me” when she told him.

I just don’t understand... and I don’t know how to say this without sounding like an asshole...

I don’t understand how some who are really not in the best place or time in their life get to have a baby, and others who have all their shit together get nothing....
