Do I need my lap infant (10 months) birth certificate? I did not buy him a seat. I’m his birth mother

Check their website. But I had to bring my daughters birth certificate because she was a lap child to verify she was under 2.

So I did need my sons birth certificate to check in with the airline, which provides them proof of age. After that point nobody else needed to check it as he then was provided a boarding pass (which stated infant in lap).  Be sure to pack it because that is your child’s only identification.

I’d bring one just in case. A copy is usually fine. I’ve flown a couple different airlines with my little one and it just depends on the airline.

I just flew frontier from New Mexico to Florida and back at the beginning of the month with a lap infant, they didn’t ask for a birth certificate.
