Religion?

Question

So I'm having a lot of thoughts of religion. My husband is atheist but I was raised as a JW but have been doing research. A lot of things that were never brought to my attention, who is Mary Magdalene? I hear a lot of controversial talk about her being Jesus wife. So I'm confused. Was Jesus God's son or was he just merely a man who was divine and chose by God to deliver his message? Is there a god? I just need answers. I'm confused. I never got a lot of answers when I was a kid being a jehovahs witness.

Mary Magdalene was a woman who accompanied Jesus in his ministry along with a few other women.  Other than Jesus expelling seven demons from her (Luke 8:2) there is not a lot mentioned about her in the Bible.  She was there at Jesus' death and was one of several women to see him after his resurrection, but there's nothing in the Bible record to support any kind of romantic relationship between the two of them.  
To your question on Jesus being God's son, on three separate occasions, Jehovah actually spoke directly from heaven proclaiming Jesus as his son; at his baptism (Matthew 3:17, Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22, John 1:34) his transfiguration (Luke 9:35) and at another time when witnessing to a crowd (John 12:28)
As for if there is a God, there is so much evidence that there is.  From the way the earth is in exactly the right position to sustain life, to the fact that before space travel, the prophet Isaiah was inspired by God to write about 'the circle of the earth' (Isaiah 40:22), to prophecies written hundreds of years ago coming true even today with striking detail (for one of many examples, 2 Timothy 3:1-5.)  Even the fact that you're asking this question at all is prove of a God because you are 'conscious of your spiritual need.' (Matthew 5:3) If there weren't a God, why do so many feel the need to search for him?  It isn't logical for us to have a spiritual need if there weren't any way to satisfy it.  
There is so much more that can be said but this only scratches the surface. Why don’t you ask Jehovah’s Witnesses now? I don’t know how long ago you were a kid, but we are always happy to answer people’s questions from the bible. That’s why there are provisions for free home bible studies for interested ones.

God does not have a literal wife with whom he fathered children. But he is the Creator of all life. (Revelation 4:11) Therefore, the first human that God created, Adam, is called a “son of God.” (Luke 3:38) Similarly, the Bible teaches that Jesus was created by God. So Jesus is also called a “Son of God.”—John 1:49.
God created Jesus before he created Adam. Regarding Jesus, the apostle Paul wrote: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians 1:15) Jesus’ life began long before he was born in a stable in Bethlehem. In fact, the Bible says that his “origin is from early times, from the days of time indefinite.” (Micah 5:2) As God’s firstborn Son, Jesus was a spirit creature in heaven before he was born as a human on earth. Jesus himself said: “I have come down from heaven.”—John 6:38; 8:23.

Mary was a follower. Texts claiming she was more are heretical texts written by sects that have no truth to them. These “gospels” are called “gnostic gospels” because they were written by a cult called the Gnostics. None of what they wrote is taken seriously (and they wrote a lot of weird stuff) except by uneducated internet trolls. There’s no issues there. 
As for Jesus, He was totally divine and totally man. Notice He calls Himself “the son of man” not a son of man. This is referring to a passage in Daniel in which is seen “one like a son of man” who inherits the kingdoms of the world from God. This takes an understanding of the Trinity since Scripture explicitly states that there is one God and God alone rules the earth. There is no co-ruler. I can go into more detail with that if you want, but that’s the important stuff. 
Your last question is a big one, so if you’d like, some podcasts I really enjoy who constantly answer this topic is Cold Case Christianity, which is written by a homicide detective using his detective skills to make a case for Christianity, and RZIM ministries which is run by Ravi Zacharias, who is incredibly intelligent. I lean more towards the philosophical arguments for God, so I tend to like Ravi more personally.

You wont find answers here. The truth is people do not know. And it is because people are so uncomfortable with the idea of not having an answer and not knowing that they turn to religious explanations, as if they were even viable. They are not. 
Is there a god? Well Atheism is the rejection of the claim that there is such a god. This is not the same as saying there is definitely not a god. It is saying that the claims made by religions have not met their burden of proof. 
Its okay not to know and not to believe. 
The best way to search for answers is to keep researching, following the evidence to where they go. And use the pillars of reason to answer your own questions.

Mary was one of Jesus’ followers. Jesus is the Son of God and he never had any wives. If you read through the New Testament in the Bible, you’ll get a lot of answers you’re searching for. Specially in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John :)
