Do they look fake?

Sooooo..... the other day, I had a lady ask me where I bought my eyelashes because they look so natural. I don’t wear makeup a lot, do to having sensitive skin. I took it as a compliment, but I explain to her that I wasn’t wearing fake lashes, that my lashes were natural. She seemed offended. And was like “it’s so unfair how some girls don’t have to pay for beauty like the rest of us”. I don’t consider myself to be beautiful or pretty. But here is how my face looks like with makeup,
