When are you taking your newborn out in public?

I'm due September 1st with baby #6 (only one earth baby so far). I'm a SAHM and pastor's wife, due at the beginning of flu season. Ugh. My son is 1, and everyone at church is obsessed with him, always touching and kissing on him. I really dont want new baby subjected to that during flu season, but also had bad PPD with my son and am afraid to stay home for 5 months with baby until flu season is over. That also seems a bit excessive to me... When are you all taking baby in public?

Of you’re worried about them touching, just wear the baby with a mobi wrap so they can’t!

The flu shot is normally available in August, get that before birth and youll pass on some antibodies to baby.

I took my baby (preemie!) out right away, she was in nicu for 12 days. We went everywhere when she came home. She was due sept 28 and was born aug 15.

Congratulations! Our baby was born in early Sept, and we took her out. She went to church her second week home. Please don't feel like you have to stay confined to your home for months! I just typically asked that nobody kissed on her or touched her face, and I didnt hand her off to people we werent closer with

I took my son out like couple days after he was out of the NICU. So he was almost 2 weeks old. I just either baby wore or I put a bug net (it was summer so no one really caught on lol). & just made sure to say please don’t touch. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As soon as I have to go out baby will have to come. I keep the cover on the car seat and if anyone asks I say sorry baby is sleeping. I took my daughter out around 3 weeks because I needed groceries lol.

I’m due feb 18th and I’ll take her out in public starting in April when flu season is over.

I'll be staying in the house 8 weeks straight no leaving. Only for my first postpartum appointment and the baby's first check up appointment.
