Breastfeeding moms

Coco

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding since baby was three weeks old (prior to this, I was pumping exclusively)... I don’t know why, but my left has ALWAYS had less milk than my right side🤔... when baby feeds from right side I can hear him gulp gulp gulp lol (for 10 minutes); but my left, he seems to gulp slower and get frustrated...

Even when I pumped, I would get less out of the left side😩(I was told by my lactation consultant , not to go by what I pump, Bc a baby can extract a lot more than a pump will, but still lol.. point is, the two were not the same 🤦🏻‍♀️

my lactation consultant has me nursing only one breast per session... I know many women nurse one breast and then switch baby to other breast, per session, however I was told it’s better to do one side per session so baby will get to the hind milk. My baby nurses only 10 minutes per session, but he gulps aggressively and I know it’s enough.. (he’s a chubby little guy lol, plenty poopy and pee diapers)...

So.... what I’ve been having to do is: when it’s time to nurse him from left side, he feeds only 5 minutes on left, and then I feel like I run low on milk, and then switch him to the right side to finish up...😑 (but when it’s time for the right, he’ll nurse a full 10 minutes on that one).

So yes, jus wondering, is this normal lol?? To have less on one side???

I’ve tried starting EVERY nursing session on the left (was advised by lactation consultant), but even then, yes, my left side’s supply got a little better, but still less 🤔😑... thank God for my right boob lol.. picks up the slack 🙏🏻...jus sayin...😓
