How did you teach your baby to point?

My son will be one next month and he still doesn’t really point. I mean he uses his index finger but he doesn’t actually point to things to signify he wants it or to show me. And I know it seems simple but I’m wondering if there is something I’m not doing besides pointing at everything I talk about...

I just point at everything. He still doesn’t do it very often. He mostly grunts and looks intently at the thing he wants.

My daughter just kinds started doing it before she was 12 months, she loves to poke things so maybe try that?

My son did it on his own before 12 months. I can’t remember exactly when but I think it’s a milestone they’re supposed to reach around this time. Did you speak to the pediatrician about it?
