Fetal Weight 34 Weeks?

Question

Hello all! We just had our 34 week scan and they said baby was measuring small at 4.8lbs! The tech said he should be about high 6.lbs at birth. He was 2.9lb at 28 weeks, 3.4 lbs at 30 weeks and now 4.8 at 34 weeks.
Over the weekend I was hospitalized for low amniotic fluid (4.3) and we got it to rise and today was at a 9 (8-20 is normal I’m told).
Just a bit confused and hoping you guys can help. We have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow as well.

They told us our son was measuring at 5.5 pounds. And he was 7.4 when born. And that was the day before I actually went into labor. They aren’t always correct with the weights. It’s just a guess basically. Told me my oldest was around 6 pounds and he was born at 8.4. So I wouldn’t worry about it too much unless your doctor says something about it.

Baby can put on up to half a pound a week! I’m sure he will be just fine 👍🏻 I was told my baby would be massive due to type 1 diabetes and so far she is measuring on the smaller side of “average” but is healthy.

Ultrasounds can be a pound or more off. I wouldn’t be too worried if I were you. As long as you are doing the right things and eating healthy you should be fine.
