So, unraveled my husband’s “emotional affair” which is for sure (but which I think could just plain be an affair, but which he was trying to convince me was just a best friend) over the weekend. We’ve gotten all kinds of baby stuff from the other woman which I absolutely don’t want in my house let alone touching my baby. Am donating all the second hand equipment she gave to charity, but still have two outfits which she apparently gave as a present.

Husband had not yet revealed to her that this unraveling has occurred. He says he loves me and wants to stay with me for the long run (and apparently had already come to this epiphany a month and a half ago though I have my doubts here too). But he also says he wants to stay friends with her as they have been good friends and work colleagues for 15 years, but things only got out of control when his mom died earlier this year and he felt better able to speak to her than me. He believes he can make things right and go back to a “normal” friendship with her.

I’ve decided to give it a shot and work it out with him. Aside from that I’m 7 months pregnant.

I never post online, but would be curious to know... what should I do with the baby clothes gift?

- return to sender with a “thanks but no thanks” asking for her to call me

- wait for him to have a chat with her, and return to her (he says he’ll try tomorrow, but if not, next week..)

- donate to charity along with all the other baby stuff from her

- throw it in the trash

- other?
