OPK darkening at 7-8 dpo?

Question

So this is a kind of weird question. I’m not new to ttc or pregnancy at all which is why this is throwing me off.
So I ovulated about 7-8 days ago (I use OPKs, temp, and I always get ovulation pain, ewcm. It’s like clockwork. Well now I’m about 7-8dpo and my OPKs are darkening? Why would this happen if I confirmed ovulation? And why so late? (I’ve ovulated late before but never more than 3-5 days)

There’s no need to take them after ovulation. You’ll usually have some amount of lh in your system but you only need to identify that peak then stop til next cycle. My RE said those strips are too expensive to waste and told me to only use the week or so to find o day.

LH can fluctuate throughout the month and day to day.  You wont necessarily have a light to dark progression running up to ovulation. It could bounce around before getting a blazing positive. Keep testing.

Sometimes OPK's are positive if you are pregnant. You also might just be having a spike in LH.
