Nipple shield advice

My daughter is 2 months old. I have flat nipples so they only come out sometimes on their own. We have used the shield since day one and I was able to get her to latch a couple times a day without it. She wouldn’t stay on too long but I was happy we got a latch at all. I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery and had to build up my supply after that. Now we are at square one and she refuses to latch at all unless the shield is there. Just need advice on how to get rid of the shield.
