22 week scan and my baby is in the 84th percentile. Big baby on the way?

The tech and the doctor said my baby is in the 84th percentile when it comes to how big he is. He is one pound and 4 ounces. I asked that tech if she thought he was going to be a big baby ... she predicts that yes 🤭 I’m a first time mom and want input from those mommas who know if this is a predictor of how big he’s going to be at birth. Thank you!

It’s really anybody’s guess. My son measured very small my entire pregnancy and was 9 pounds at birth 🙄

I think the biggest concern for big babies is women with gestational diabetes. But I could be totally wrong on that, that’s just what I’ve heard.

The weight estimate at ultrasounds is a HUGE guess. It can be up to 2 pounds off. Unless baby is measuring SUPER big or SUPER small you honestly shouldn’t pay attention to it. It’s a guess and should just be for fun

Our baby A measured 1-13 at our 22w appointment. Baby B measured 1-6. We weren’t told anything about percentiles.
