Jungle Juice recipe (for breastfeeding moms)

Melandri

Hi all!

I wanted to share a recipe with you that South African women have believed in for many years. It is known to increase milk supply and is just also a general life saver for mom as it helps to keep you hydrated and energized throughout your breastfeeding journey.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not by any means a guarantee that it will work for everyone but I have heard many good things about this recipe and will be trying it myself as soon as I start breastfeeding. I will also write a follow up post on the results. I will recommend that you don't use this recipe while pregnant as it contains fenugreek which may cause the uterus to contract. I am using South African products but I will also add products that are available in other countries:

*30ml blackberry thorn elixir

*1 cup fruit juice (I'm using 100% apple juice in mine)

*3 cups Rooibos tea (leave to draw for 5 minutes before removing the teabags. Let it cool) This tea is available on Amazon. In South Africa we have a tea available called Carmien Nursing tea which contaims Fenugreek so if you can get your hands on this tea you don't have to add fenugreek capsules. Also, if you know of a tea in your country specifically made for breastfeeding moms please share!

*1 sachet Rehidrat(South African) or 1 sachet of NormaLyte Oral Rehydration Salts (available on Amazon)

*10 drops of Bach Flower Rescue Remedy (this is a natural stress reliever and you can lower the dosage to half if you are worried about the natural alcohol content)

*3 capsules of Fenugreek tablets

Add all of the ingredients together and store in the fridge. This should make up a 2 litre bottle which should be consumed within 24 hours. Make sure to drink this mixture before and after feeds to keep your energy at an optimum level.

Feel free to ask any questions! :)
