Can animals tell labour is near?

While my cat has become a total sook for my partner, the last few days he’s been sleeping in my room under the Bassinet, or behind my head on my pillow both in bed and on the couch, and not really wanting to leave my side.

I’m 39+1 now and occasionally starting to feel cramps a few times a day. Though I highly doubt I’ll go into labour on my own, can they scent something is about to change?
