How to tell my father I’m pregnant?

I am 20 years old been with my boyfriend for 6 years and found out I’m pregnant 6 weeks and im so excited! My mom knows and so happy to be a grandma.! But my father is a different story all he does is yell and scream and I’m scared he going to want me to get a abortion . I will be 21 when I have him/her and have my own place and own job and the same with my partner . I was going to wait till February 25 for my next appointment after I hear my baby heartbeat but what should i do need other opinions ?

Well he can't make you have an abortion, you're 20. Whatever you want is up to you and your boyfriend. Your baby your choice. You're going to be a mom! Be proud and happy! Don't let a grump that take away from you

I got pregnant at 19 and I didn't tell my dad because he would've freaked out. I told my mom, she was disappointed because I was so young but she got excited about it pretty quick. My mom and grandma told my dad without me there and it was a good thing because he was very pissed. He said things throughout my pregnancy that weren't very nice but once my daughter got here he never acted cold towards her and he loves her so much, she's almost 5 now. Since she was born he has said things here and there about me being so young and not being happy about it. Over all everything is good now and now he jokes about it.

Just rip it off like a band aid I called my dad I was scared of his reaction. I was 9 weeks along when I told him. I was also 19 almost 20 and I’m a full time college student lol he was in shock when I first told him didn’t talk to me for a few weeks then he snapped on my ass 4 weeks later. Now everything is good. If you live on your own and have a car, take care of yourself it really shouldn’t matter what your dads opinion is!

I am assuming your parents are separated. Maybe invite him out for lunch with your boyfriend to tell him. Do it discretely. Like with a soother saying can’t wait to meet your grandpa. That way he can’t cause a scene. No father is totally okay with proof that his baby girl is having sex. But guaranteed that he will love his grandchild to death once he/she is born. I honestly had my mom tell my dad because I was scared of his reaction. He never said anything negative. But the moment he held his granddaughter, it was pure love.

Ohhh my dad was like that. I got pregnant at 21 almost 22 and he was like oh congrats it happened. I left home and my little sister said he was very mad because I was so young. Him and my mom had an argument because my mom was happy for us and he was not. My older sister got pregnant at 20 and he was fine. So I kimda felt like okay then?

First of all you should be proud of your achievements having a job, your own place and you're clearly in a happy and secure relationship! 
At your age, you're an adult, you clearly don't depend on your parents so if your Father isn't too happy then leave him be. You're Mum sounds so supportive and with time your Father will hopefully come round to the situation or even better be thrilled with your news!

my dad cut me off completely when I told him I was pregnant. I'm 21 and was 20 when I told him. my baby is due in 10 days and we have only talked maybe about 4 times throughout my pregnancy and that was because I reached out to him. most people aren't like my father though so try not to worry. just know no matter what happens that in the end you'll be happy no matter whos in your life because you have your little one.

I would honestly wait until I knew the sex. "you're going to have a granddaughter/grandson" is much more powerful and would be a lot more likely to illicit a positive response. And if he still is negative about it, just give him space and he really has no choice but to come around. 
Also, this is a really terrible Outlook but when people post things like this all I can think is that if they tell that person and something *God forbid* happens to the pregnancy, the amount of resentment toward the person who didn't want you to have the baby is going to be immense and you may struggle to overcome it. Wait as long as you can.
