HELP! Pack n play or crib????

So I’m getting a two bedroom apartment for my daughter and I.. BUT I’ve been hearing that buying a crib will be a waste of money 😭 I really wanted to have my baby girl to have the nursery of my dreams but I’m starting to think the pack n play would work better. I was gonna get a regular small bassnit for the side of my bed but idk I just wanna hear other mommas recommendations or pros and cons

I don’t think a crib is a waste at all. You don’t necessarily need it right away which is nice if money is tight, but within a month or so. At least that’s when I transitioned my son. He slept next to our bed for the first 6 week in a rock n play bassinet and I transitioned him to his crib after that. I thinking switching him early helped him learn to sleep on his own and in his own room. I also didn’t breastfeed either so it was easier for me to transition him. He was waking up every 3-4 hours for a bottle during the night when I started him in his crib.

My daughter slept in a bassinet for the first 3 months (that’s when she outgrew it) and then went to her crib.

My son slept in his crib from day one. The walls are thin in an apartment so you be able to hear baby. I’d recommend doing what you think will be best but my son did fine in the crib.

Buying a crib right off the bat can be pointless. Trust me you will want her sleeping in the same room as you for the first few months. I recommend getting the pack n play or a bassinet to keep her beside you for the first few months. If u want to give her a beautiful nursery do that as well! 💕But know she probably wont actually sleep in the crib until about 5-6 months, but of course she’s still deserving of her own room :)

My son slept next to my bed in his pack and play with the raised bassinet mattress until he outgrew the weight limit of 15 pounds. Then we went to his crib. Around 6 months old, we put him in his own room to help him get better sleep.

Pack n play is the way to go! You can use it when you travel or when you are outside. We used it for camping and hotel stays. And he went right into a toddler bed when he was too big for it. My first two boys used a crib and both ways worked good. I just didn’t want to spend the money on the crib for my third if I didn’t have too. But a convertible crib would be a good investment since it can turn into a toddler and fullsize. My 4th (and last!) will also use pack n play. It’s only been in up in the rafters for a year, so I gotta pull it out and get t all cleaned up 😊

I am planning on using a rock and play at first but then transitioning to a crib. I know my sisters little boy is in his crib and loves it (he’s just over 2). He isn’t able to fit in a pack and play anymore because he is to long for it.

We were going to move into a 2 bedroom apartment but I think we’re going to do 1 bedroom for one more year. Because he’s still so small and going to sleep in our room anyway. The rooms we’re looking at are pretty big so we’re still going with a crib but we already have a bassinet that I can keep close by the bed until I can transition him into a crib. Or maybe he won’t want the bassinet at all! And it’ll be all crib. Plus most cribs transition into toddler beds or day beds which will save money later down the road 🤷🏻‍♀️. 
I totally get that nursery’s can be rarely used especially during the first year and it’s practical to save money if you plan on keeping baby by your side. I think it just depends on where you want baby to sleep and for how long!
