Do you think tattoos should be acceptable in the workplace?

Watching a show and this man has face tattoos and he’s taking about how it’s hard for him to get a job because he’s got face tattoos. I don’t understand why tattoos effect your ability to work. Just wondering what everyone’s opinion is

I think it depends on the tattoo, like if they’re vulgar or inappropriate I can see how it would be a problem. Face tattoos are pretty shocking and older generations probably would never trust someone with one, but I feel like with younger generations it’s not as crazy to see. So maybe in the future it will be less taboo

It’s 2019 why is this even a question or debate anymore. 
Some of the best teachers, lawyers, doctors (including my own OB), I’ve met and dealt with in my life all had tattoos. Some of the most understanding people as well. Shit my middle school English teacher had tattoos from her neck down. I don’t think discrimination of uniqueness, is fair. If you can teach, you can teach. If you spend your money going to school for a certain degree or title, do that job!! Regardless of how you look. It’s not the 1800s anymore lol. Tattoos are cool as shit

If you are a doctor and dedicate your life to medicine I don’t see why you can’t have tattoos obviously nothing racist or vulgar like genitalia but other then that no I literally don’t care. I don’t think tattoos have anything to do with being professional... 🤷🏻‍♀️

**APPROPRIATE** tattoos should never discredit a person's moral or work ethic in their profession. It's not unprofessional. It literally has zero effect on a persons ability to make choices in their field. I could understand vulgar and inappropriate tattoos being an issue because swearing, nudity, and gore subjects are already regulated amongst public society. That's nothing new.

I said yes, but I really think it depends. It’s ultimately up to the employer. I don’t have any issue with an employer having an issue with neck and face tattoos.  They’re distracting and unprofessional IMO.
