So I went to my doctor last Thursday and did a well woman exam and STD testing. I took a rapid hiv test and it came back POSITIVE. This has happened to me before back in 2008, it was a rapid test and it came back positive. I had just had my son and was still in the hospital, it was traumatizing, I wasn't even able to enjoy it because I was terrified. They took a more extensive test and it came back negative, so they said that my positive test was actually a false positive and I did not have HIV. Fast forward from 2008 and I've had three additional HIV tests since this last one, all of which were not rapid tests. They were all negative. Now since I had this positive test they drew more blood and are running another more accurate test. I don't get results until next Monday (2-11-19). I did have unprotected sex over the summer which I know was really stupid, so I'm incredibly terrified! I just needed to get this off of my chest, it's killing me....
