Can I use the term rainbow baby? 🌈

Question

Is it acceptable to use the term for someone who has finally conceived after years and years of infertility (but never actually had a miscarriage)? 
I feel that infertility is an ugly dark storm and a baby born after infertility is still considered a rainbow baby.
But I want to get your thoughts! Thanks 💕

I dunno the best answer to this one... i feel like the term is really meant for women who have lost. But after trying for two years myself, I guess I understand why you would want to. Might take away from those who have actually experienced loss? Because it’s an extremely different experience than infertility. Also, from what I’ve seen and experienced, most women who have miscarriages and losses also struggle with infertility.

It took us 22 months to conceive so I understand the frustration and heartbreak there is when TTC for a long time.
However I still imagine the actual loss of a baby that's been growing inside of you and the pain that accompanies that is far far worse.
Therefore I wouldn't want to steal the term for myself.

I would say yes.. rainbow is a special baby and pregnancy to me. Even though i have lost and this pregnancy is special and amazing to me. But why shouldnt it be the same for someone who has tried and tried over and over. So i say yes! Congratulations on the baby :)
