What would you do?
My bff has been trying to get me to go on a date with a black man. I’ve been single for 2 years, focusing all my energy on myself and my three year old son, so she’s trying to help me “get back out there” even though I’ve told her I’m not ready.😩😂
The thing is I told a family member and they basically told me I shouldn’t because “that’s not me”
(I’ve only been with one man, I’m 19, my sons father is the only person I’ve ever dated or anything so I really don’t even know what’s me or not yet)
When I asked what was that supposed to mean she told me I needed to think about my son and how it would affect him being with a man of color.🙃
I said that had nothing to do with him and I don’t understand why that would be a problem?
He has a job, from what several people have told me he’s a very good, respectful man, is a family man, etc.
Why does color have to matter to people?
I haven’t said yes or no to the date yet, because I’m nervous I haven’t been on a date or even talked to a dude in years I think it’d be good for me to go out and meet new people but I have bad anxiety and always talk myself out of dates, and stuff like that. And because of things people keep trying push onto me..
