Hypothyroidism and TRYING to Lose Weight

In NEED of advice/opinions or anyone that can relate and share their story with me.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 4 years ago. My levels were extremely high, almost a 6.0 - my doctor placed me on Synthroid but due to losing medical insurance between jobs I haven’t been able to consistently take my medication. Once I do get a new job and can get my medical benefits again I will absolutely get back on my medication to get my levels to where they need to be. The last time I got my levels checked was June of 2018 and they were about 4.0 - I would assume just based off of my previous tests that I am right around the same level now as I was then.
My problem is this, I’m obviously tired and lack energy and motivation. I need to lose weight. Does anyone have any solutions for me now that might help with anyone who struggles to lose weight like myself?
I do have an elliptical at home which I would like to start using everyday or every other day to start but I know how my body is. It doesn’t matter how much I work out it seems like I cannot shed the weight. I don’t expect to lose weight immediately but definitely want results at least a pound or half a pound to stay positive to continue to do the work.
In a sense I am looking for anyone with advice on what I can do... vitamins, dietary plans, workout regiments... anything to not kill me but help with losing weight while increasing
my energy levels.
I appreciate any and all advice! Thanks!
