Would you be allowed to pick up the gender of your embryos?

A good, reputable clinic will not allow it.  We were not allowed to know or select the gender.  A healthy baby is what's most important... not the gender.

Some clinics will allow it and some will not.. and only if the embryo with gender you want is of greater or equal quality to the other embryo. Also, they most likely won’t let you do it for your first child, but might for family balancing. Also, I disagree with the poster above who said a reputable clinic wouldn’t do it. That is simply untrue.

Yes, if you do the genetic testing they do gender as well.

My clinic only allows the embryologist to select which embryo is transferred. 
We can find out the gender whenever we want, but we don’t get to pick. 
We are finding out tomorrow what our little bean is! I will be 5+2.

The only way to find out the gender is through PGS testing and that is very pricey! Then each facility and state has their own guidelines for embryo selection when it comes transfer.

I dont see why not. If you have healthy embryos of both genders, there’s nothing wrong with being able to choose what you prefer

It’s illegal in the UK for them to do this so I won’t be finding out.

Depends where you live. It’s currently illegal in Australia but I believe you can in the US.
