Our Journey

Carol
Some of you know, others may not, but Skeeter and I wanted to share with our closest friends and family about our journey of..... "trying to conceive"! We knew right away we were not quite a complete family when we got married in February 2011. We decided in April 2011 that I would get my IUD birth control removed and start trying for a baby :) We tried for 2 years. Fast forward to 2013 where we started REALLY TRYING. We were bbt charting, taking ovulation predictor kits, yada yada and nothing was happening,  Big Fat Negative pregnancy tests every month. Heartache, stress and tears were starting to take its toll on us. TTC was consuming our lives. Well, in January 2014 we finally gave in and sought medical help. After a slew of testing, poking, prading, scans, and bloodwork galore we finally had some hard to deal with answers. I was diagnosed with insulin resistant poly cystic ovarian syndrome,  or better known as PCOS as well as hypothyroidism. My hormone levels were way out of whack. I was put on a coctail of meds to try and get that under control. In May 2014 my levels were at a much better level. That is when my doctor did a complete workup on both myself and Skeeter because she was going to start me on fertility medications to help me ovulate! We were so excited to finally be getting somewhere.  Well, After 10 failed medicated cycles from October 2014 to July of this year, 2015, we still were not pregnant. We then made an appointment with Tampa Bay Areas best fertility clinic! At that point, in July we were told I have an additional medical condition called LUFS, not really sure what this all means, except that we would NEVER be able to conceive without IVF, and even then the odds were not that promising. We were absolutely devistated and heartbroken. We decided we would have one last go at trying in September of this year as we took a break from fertility drugs in August because we found out at the fertility clinic that they would not work anyway. Well, GOD works in miraculous ways! SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2015 I took a hpt and it was POSITIVE!!! I then took 3 more, again ALL POSITIVE!  At that point, Skeeter still didn't know a thing! I shared the news with him that night,  he was EXTATIC! The next morning we took another at home test before I went for my HCG bloodwork! Again, BIF FAT POSITIVE!! We kept saying, "Can this really be happening? " After all of this, we are extremely happy to announce that we are PREGNANT! We will be welcoming Baby S to our family in MAY 2016!!
