Are Infant self rescue (ISR) swimming lessons worth it if you don’t have a pool?

I’m looking into them for my 10 month old. We don’t have a pool or plan to be around them too much. But what if we do decide to go? Ugh I’m such an anxious person. They are $100 a week for 4-6 weeks with a $100 down payment. We may go to my aunts pool a couple of times. Any one have any experience with these lessons? Thank you!

I think it's very important to teach your child/infant/toddler appropriate pool safety regardless if you plan on being at the pool much or not. If it can potentially save your childs life, you can't put a price on that.

I considered it for mine when they were babies. We decided against it since, like you, we didn’t have a pool or swim much. We put our kids in swim lessons at 2 and they go every summer. They’re super strong swimmers now.

I was a swim instructor for years. While these classes are super beneficial if you are around large bodies of water a lot, it will likely be a waste of money if youre not, and that sounds like almost $1000 after everything is said and done. I wouldnt go for it if i were in your shoes.
Do a mommy and me swim class to get baby comfortable in the water. Or even just take baby to a pool and carry him around and dunk him a few times to help him be comfortable in the water. Most babies will cry through the first 2 classes, especially at that age so it will help to do simple things.
