Light periods indicate issue?

I've has a normal period since I was 13. After having my daughter it became heavy and after my son if became unbearable. I would bleed through a super tampon to the point where I wore a pad and tampon all the time. Then I got off birth control and.... it stopped. It has been several cycles of super light periods. I'm only wearing a pad and I can wear the entire pad the whole day with no fear of leakage. It is primarily pink and lasts only 3 days. 2 of those are such light spotting that I barely need a panty liner.

This is so odd for me and I'm beginning to think this is indicating a hormone issue and might also be why I am not conceiving as quickly as I did with my other children. I just wanted to see if any other women had experienced this and if it was a sign of an issue?
