Medicaid covers genetic screening?

So my best friend who is also pregnant has Humana Medicaid, just like me. She has already had her genetic screening done and it was completely covered by her insurance. But I just called Humana and they told me that it would only be covered if it was needed for a medical reason? I’m so confused because I know my friend didn’t have a medical reason and hers was fully covered. Should I just get the screening and hope for the best?

My Medicaid covered my nipt test, i was actually surprised, im not high risk and i know its not my age im under 35, my doctor said hes never had an issue with Medicaid covering the test.

Age is the usual medical reason. Or sometimes a dr ordering it and saying it's needed might be enough

Here in ontario certain scans are covered after 30 or 35. But the blood genetic screening that is 99.9% accurate is only covered if you're over 40.
