Tips to get pregnant

Hi everyone, I recently got engaged, my fiancé is adopting my daughter & we are trying to conceive. But there’s one little problem, we’ve been trying since my daughter was 4 months old. She’s now a year old. I know it’s not as long as some but I was wondering what can make you have a better chance at getting pregnant? We’ve had sex during ovulation, while on my period, and he’s not pulled out once. I’ve never tried to have a kid on purpose before so I’m at a loss.
