Transfer of Dimitrios Pagourtzis (Sante Fe High shooter) case to be transfered

So I live only about 15min away from Sante Fe Highschool where Dimitrios Pagourtzis shot and killed 8 students and 2 teachers and wounded 13 others. Right now there is a lot of anger and talk in are area about their recent request to move his case out of Galveston County and to another county in Houston so he can have a "fair" trial. This leads to my controversial question. Should high profile murder, drug, rape, etc. Cases be transfered to outside courts to ensure a "fair trial" and ensure judges and jurors are not bias in any way? Or should they remain in the county their crime was committed no matter the case.
