I was 11 weeks on Wed Feb 13th. I had just picked my son and husband up. I drove them to the store and as we were leaving I felt this hot rush of fluid between my legs. I put my hand down there and my hand was full of blood. I drove as fast as I could to the hospital which was only 3 blocks away. They got me out of the truck and into a wheelchair. They helped me get out of the wheel chair and into a bed. I was having a miscarriage and hemorrhaging. There was blood everywhere. The hospital we have doesn’t have an OB dr. They are basically a triage hospital and send you out. They took off my pants because they were full of blood and large clots. My blood pressure was 80/41. They were putting iv’s in both arms,had my husband sign consent to start giving me blood. They gave me 2 bags of blood. 20 min later they had me stabilized. I was so weak all I could say was please don’t let me die. They called Life Flight. Mind you we had 3 ft of snow on the ground so it took a little longer for them to land. They put me in an ambulance,that drove to the airport to put me on the Life Flight helicopter. They flew me to a hospital an hour away where an OB surgeon was waiting. They were ready to give me 2 more bags of blood but decided to have it on hand for surgery. An hour after being at that hospital they rushed me into Emergency surgery for a DNC to stop the bleeding and to get everything else out. Surgery didn’t take long,but I was in recovery for a very long time due to Tachycardia. I have severe Hypothyroidism which I feel caused the miscarriage. They are testing some tissue to see if they medically find out what happened. I’m thankful and grateful to be alive after all of this yet we just found out that it was a Boy. The recovery is just as hard. I’ve never felt so weak,shaky,and numb. This is my first miscarriage and would have been my 4th child.
