To all the mamas, mamas to be & TTCđź’—
▪️To all the TTC...💕
To all the women who so dearly want a baby....your time will come, don’t give up.
Try to not get angry at the ones who don’t know what to say- because we all know there is truly nothing that can be said.
Don’t let people make you feel bad for buying a cute baby item here and there for that future baby.
It’s okay to enjoy your life now and do as you like (you know like...sleep or travel haha).
It’s hard to describe how long and hard the waiting is and how each day feels like a week, each week feels like a month and each month feels like half a year.
It’s okay to believe in “this worked for a woman I know” and to try everything & anything so you get the same result.
You’re allowed to feel anger and sorrow and jealousy (and still be happy for others).
It’s okay to treat your fur babies as your “baby” and don’t let anyone say different, they are the ones by your side and bringing you comfort, joy and entertainment when it’s needed during this time.
It’s also okay to feel as though the process of “making a baby” feels like a job and not a romantic evening of conception like you imagined (saw in the movies) when you were younger.
▪️To the mama who lost a baby....👼🏼
It’s okay to feel a loss no matter how far along you were.....its also okay to NOT be okay.
People will literally have no idea what to say and the comment “it just wasn’t meant to be” will come up quite a bit....try to not take it personally even though you feel the opposite.
It’s okay to remember the special dates of “what would’ve been the baby’s_____” and celebrate them if that is what you’d like to do.
It’s important to remember that you and your spouse/partner may handle it completely different & to always remember you went through the exact same thing.
It’s okay to want to take a break from “trying” and/or it’s more than okay to want to try again right away.
It’s perfectly normal to be anxious and nervous about going through it again.
▪️To the mama who’s expecting...🤰🏼
It’s okay to feel scared and unsure of what the future will hold & if you are ready for what’s to come (psssst you’re never ready).
It’s also very true when they say “you won’t remember how painful it was and you’ll be willing to do it again” (I mean ya, you’ll remember but not to the full extent...thank goodness).
It’s okay to worry about time, money and most of all....worrying about “losing yourself” just know that being a mother will be the time best time of your life, money will come and go and you are now the most important person to a little human and the person you are will change but...for the better.
Even with the sickness, aches, pains and discomfort you will miss that belly and the little baby who kept you company all of that time.
You may look in the mirror and not recognize the body reflecting back at you...trust me, its worth it!
Sometimes “Googling it” isn’t always the best idea and going with mama instinct is best.
When they say “sleep now”....just do it!
There will be a day or day(s) where you are so worried and think the worst....it is completely normal.
The + test, ultrasound, gender reveal and everything in between are moments that can never be fully described as to how joyful they truly are.
Your fear of childbirth is inevitable but you were made for this and will get through it like a champ!
You may feel like a dummy and unprepared but it is also very true that “your mommy instincts will kick in” and you’ll figure it out!
Be prepared for changes in relationships= BIG changes with your partner/spouse, friends & family....sometimes change is good and other times it is hard and heartbreaking.
If you feel like crying....cry. If you want to eat 6 Oreos...do it= it’s all balance!
Don’t focus on the # on the scale....focus on the cute profile on the ultrasound screen and how YOUR body made that.
Try to go into it all (pregnancy, giving birth breastfeeding or formula, sleeping, etc) with as little expectations as possible....nothing will go to plan and the more laid back you are about it all, the more likely it is to go in your favour.
Even though you may not always feel your best....document these moments and your belly growing because it’ll be gone in a blink and you’ll miss it one day OR/AND your child will cherish those photos one day.
You can nest, clean, pack and organize but you will never be ready for the love that you will experience when you meet that baby for the first time💙💗
