Car seat suggestion for newborn to 3 yrs

Hi everyone. I'm 28 weeks today and doesn't have any single item for our baby yet. We are moving to a new place and plans to start getting stuff when we are settled. I'm not sure if I'm the only one but still I'm thinking if I will have a baby shower or not. There might be some hand me downs if we will have one. Anyway since my OB advised that the item to get first is the car seat since this will be used when going home (aside from the clothes), checking online shows different types and quite expensive too. My friend suggest to get 0-3 yrs that can be reclined. Would appreciate your suggestions mommies 😊
