Birth control side effect maybe

I elected to get the oral contraceptives this time vs. the IUD. I had zero problems and loved my IUD but it took 6 months for to have regular ovulating cycles. The question is: is it normal to feel achy cramps while on the pill daily? I just completed my first 28 day pack. I take my pill in the morning and by afternoon the same achy period about to start feeling happens. Goes away while I sleep and then repeats the next day same time. I do have an appointment it’s my OB in 3-4 wks but that just feels forever away.
