Lotus Birth vs. DCC
I’m exploring my birthing options. In the process, im coming across Lotus Birth and Delayed Cord Clamping (DCC).
Lotus Birth- is when the parent(s) opts for leaving the umbilical cord attached to the baby allowing the placenta to fall off in its own time. This is usually 3-10 days. The cord will eventual dry, whither, and fall off.
DCC- Is when the parent(s) leave the umbilical cord and placenta attached for 1 minute to an hour (or more), allowing the placenta to finish pumping and providing the baby maximum blood supply and nutrients (in short). I’m leaning more towards this one.
