Ellis Marie 2/9/19 - hemorrhage and cervical tear after!

Tracy • Mommy to Ellis Marie 2/9/19 💗

My water broke the night before I was 38 weeks. Headed to the hospital and was in labor/delivery for 32 hours! Pushed for an hour and a half and she was born at 2:38 am. She is absolutely beautiful and the love of my life! Literally minutes after I had her, the doctor was stitching my cervix because I had a tear. He said that was common. Then I remember feeling very woozy like I would pass out and I was being rushed into the OR to stop major bleeding. I was in there for almost 3 hours to stop a hemorrhage from my uterus and received two pints of blood and various other IVs. It was incredibly painful and I was heartbroken that I was ripped away from my husband and baby so suddenly. I was back in my room around 6 am and everyone in my family said their goodbyes now that they knew I was okay. I passed out and when I woke up had to be told by my husband what exactly happened. I finally held my baby and fed her sometime around 7-8 am. It was so scary and painful. But, if I had to do it again to have my baby I would. I do wonder what caused the hemorrhage, as it’s very rare.

I now have awful pain in my tailbone and some very swollen tissue from my vaginal opening to my anus. I’m in a ton of pain! I went through a lot, so I’m expecting a longer recovery than the traditional vaginal birth. I’m hoping one day when I think back to her birth I don’t do us so much on the scary part and instead think about the moment I met her and the brief feeling of bliss with my husband.

Here is my beautiful baby girl!
